Why Organic Food Is a Better Choice for Your Family

A dried powder keeps its color and taste longest when it stays dry, cool and away from light. Bangladesh's humid months make the first of those the hardest, so the habits below matter most from Ashar to Kartik.
Keep It Dry
Damp is the main reason a powder clumps or loses its taste.
- Close the lid tightly every time.
- Always use a dry spoon; never a wet one.
- Don't shake the jar over a steaming pot.
Keep It Cool and Dark
Store jars in a cupboard, away from the stove, the window and the top of the fridge, where it's warm.
Glass jars are best kept out of direct sunlight, which fades color.
Buy What You'll Use
A smaller jar used up in a few months tastes better than a large one opened for a year. Write the opening date on the lid if it helps.
If It Clumps
A few soft lumps from humidity are normal: break them up with a dry spoon. If the powder smells musty or shows any mold, throw it away.
